(31st Oct 22 at 11:57am UTC) | | It is a well known phenomenon that when people near death they may suddenly achieve a greater degree of lucidity and clear thinking. Even extremely psychotic patients may suddenly regain their commonsense and rationality. I recall such a case where the psychiatrist involved realised that the patient had recovered from his critical condition when his sudden lucidity was replaced with his normal schizophrenic “word salad.”
